Kundalini Reiki, sometimes called Tummo, is as much a spiritual awakening and energetic cleansing as it is a healing art. This is a very powerful healing modality that you will use time and again for both yourself and your clients. The attunements can be given in person, remotely, or via the “chi ball” method in which the attunement is sent out into the ethers to be called down by the student at the proper time. Trust your inner voice to decide which method is best for you, depending on your experience with energy work. A distance “real time” attunement is every bit as effective as one performed in person.

Before Kundalini Attunement

Unlike Usui Reiki, this modality does not rely on symbols or specific hand positions despite the powerful nature of the energy. The energy flows quickly to where it is most needed in the body, with some sessions completing in a little as 3-5 minutes. This makes for a very convenient, yet effective form of healing work.

With the attunements, and proper practice, Kundalini energy is gradually and safely released, drawing energies up from the lower chakras and the Earth. The Reiki aspect of this modality draws in the “God Energy” from Source down into the body from the crown chakra. This is a very balanced way to approach working with the kundalini fire, and serves as a well rounded healing session for the client.

Kundalini is a Sanskrit word meaning “coiled up”, referring to the concentrated field of intelligent, sacred, invisible energy spiraled at the base chakra. This energy is considered vital to life, and raises and evolves within an individual as wisdom is learned. In India, and other regions working in the Vedic traditions, opening the kundalini is taken very seriously, and rightfully so, as you will read below. Some studying within these traditions dedicate their lives to the spiritual process of awakening the kundalini.

Kundalini Reiki has been found to be helpful for those that have had the “wrong” type of kundalini awakening, as in the case of a trauma, near death experience, drug use, or a spontaneous opening from any number of factors. Here are a few symptoms associated with a premature kundalini awakening.

Sudden flu-like or detox symptoms with no apparent illness or diagnosis; one may be experiencing pain, fatigue, issues with digestion, headaches, “brain fog”.

Insomnia, sleep restlessness, waking during the night, unusual or “out of body” dream experiences, feeling poorly rested after plenty of sleep.

Unusual sensations in and on the body… crawling, itching, etc.

Trauma from the past and emotional issues coming up suddenly, void of any discernable triggers.

This form of Reiki was developed by Ole Gabrielsen of Denmark, a remarkable spiritual channel and teacher. I am always amazed by the quality and intensity of Ole’s attunements, and his incredible connection with Spirit, regardless of the traditions he is exploring. After receiving attunements in Tummo Reiki., Ole was guided during meditation by Ascended Master Kuthumi to develop Kundalini Reiki. Kuthumi (also referred to as Koot Hoomi and K.H.) is the Chohan of the Second Ray, and was believed to have walked with Jesus Christ in his lifetime as John the Beloved. He is associated with the crown chakra, and assists those seeking spiritual truths and world knowledge used for the good of all. It is Master Kuthumi’s desire that safe, proper Kundalini Activation will lead to expanding the positive states of universal consciousness.

Kundalini Reiki consists of three attunements and additional “booster” attunements. The illustrations show the effects of the attunements on the energy channels and the chakras.

Level 1:
This attunement opens the central energy channel to allow for increased flow of Reiki energy. The channel is also prepared for the gentle kundalini awakening of level 2. The crown, heat, and hand chakras are opened and strengthened. You are taught to ground the energies on yourself, perform healing treatments in person and remotely. Kundalini Reiki level 1 is a powerful attunement that carries the equivalent of Usui Reiki levels 1, 2, and 3.

Level 2:
In this attunement, the Reiki channels are strengthened. With the channels strong, the seal holding kundalini fire is opened gently and slowly, allowing the energies to move upward to the Solar Plexus Chakra, preparing for the full kundalini rising in level 3. You are taught a specific required meditation that temporarily increases the kundalini flame, fortifies, and clears the chakras.

Level 3 (Master Level):
The previous two attunements are strengthened and the throat, solar plexus, sacral, and root chakras are opened. The kundalini fire is strengthened and reaches up and out of the crown chakra. Full kundalini rising takes place in a balanced manner. Instruction for attuning crystals and objects as reiki channels. Extra attunements are included: 1. Balance, 2.Diamond Reiki, 3. Crystalline Reiki, 4. DNA Reiki, 5. Birth Trauma Reiki, 6. Location Reiki, 7. past Life Reiki.

A note about classes: I do require a little bit of work from my students wishing to receive a certificate after attunements that will be used to perform energy work on others. This is to ensure the best results for both the student and future clients. I would think that anyone serious about doing energy work has to agree. Students working directly with me in a class get the hands on part of the training at the time and will practice on me or other classmates. Distance students are required to supply me with a short journal of experiences and practice for each attunement, and I require a case history of one client (before and after observations of several sessions) for the Master’s certificate. The requirements may vary according to the modality, and are sent along with the workbooks that go with the attunement. I know you can get the free attunements, etc., with very little supervision, but I see so many questions and complaints on the online energy work forums that I feel it is prudent to have a level of guidance for the sake of the student, potential clients, and integrity of the modality. Unless otherwise noted, certificates are printed on quality stock, suitable for framing.
